Dr. McNeil is a board-certified psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience, including 16 years post-residency. She earned her undergraduate degree from Rice University, completed medical school at Texas Tech University, and pursued her residency at the University of Arizona. Though she grew up in Houston, she has deep roots in West Texas, which have shaped her understanding of the unique mental health needs of the region.
Dr. McNeil’s extensive experience spans a wide range of psychiatric conditions, and she remains committed to providing compassionate, individualized care to her patients. In addition to her practice, she teaches at Texas Tech School of Medicine, helping to shape the next generation of physicians.
In her practice, Dr. McNeil offers Spravato treatment for patients with treatment-resistant depression, making her one of only two providers in the area offering this FDA-approved nasal ketamine treatment. Driven by a passion for mental health care, Dr. McNeil continues to focus on expanding access to psychiatric services in underserved areas of Texas. Her dedication to her community and her commitment to providing high-quality care remain at the core of her practice.
Dr. McNeil completed her medical education at Texas Tech and her residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Originally from West Texas, she returned to Amarillo, where she has built strong connections with her patients and the community.
In June 2023, Dr. McNeil opened her private practice in Amarillo, taking over from a retiring colleague. Her practice focuses on a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, PTSD, substance abuse, and personality disorders. Dr. McNeil and her team are dedicated to providing personalized care, taking the time to get to know each patient well. The practice also offers Spravato, an FDA-approved nasal ketamine treatment for treatment-resistant depression, which has proven highly effective in managing chronic depression.
